Moo Baan Chang, Surin, Thailand (PRWEB) April 28, 2014
On April 18 and 19, 2014, The Elephant Story hosted the first elephant polo exhibition match in the history of Moo Baan Chang, Surin, Thailand.
Moo Baan Chang, The Elephant Village, is home to 200 elephants, their mahouts and their families. The Elephant Story and players from The Four Seasons Tented Camp elephant polo team played a two-day exhibition match to support the local community and the school.
The Elephant Story in association with The Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation will seek to further expand these efforts to raise much needed funding for the local school and to improve the lives of the elephants and their mahout families in one of the few remaining pure elephant culture bastions in Thailand.
About The Elephant Story:
The Elephant Story is a Not-for-Profit retail store formed by Ed and Joey Story to promote elephant conservation in Asian elephant countries, most notably Thailand. The objective is to increase the awareness of the plight of what has become an endangered species given the deforestation in Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. Apart from elephant conservation, The Elephant Story seeks to support indigenous groups in Asian elephant countries by creating a market for their goods in our retail store and online. http://www.the-elephant-story.com
