ViewThe Wang Lao weavers are located in the small village of that name in the Golden Triangle of Thailand. They use indigenous grown cotton to hand weave fabrics that are used to make scarves and shoulder bags (yà ¡ms). The staple article of clothing in the Golden Triangle are scarves which are worn around the neck, the head and waist to ward off the cold, mountain air in what is otherwise a tropical rain forest.  You will typically see the Mahouts (owners and drivers of the elephants) wearing one around their waist.
