Antique Akha Hill Tribe Yam

$45.00

Hard to decide? Ask your friends :)

As the fisherman pants have no pockets, the Thai and Lao people have a tradition of carrying shoulder bags or "yáms." Buddhist monks were the first to utilize yáms, as their robes had no pockets.

These Yám bags are made by the Akha Hill Tribe in Northern Thailand. They are "Vintage" and show wear and tear, which we think makes them even better.

Yáms are typically used by the men in the tribes, but outside of the tribes yáms cross gender lines and can be appreciated by everyone.
