The Elephant Story (TES) Elephant Polo Mallet Tee Featuring The Elephant Story Acronym and Logo ...
ViewThe Elephant Story designed these flight jackets in honor of the re-enactment of an historic C47 flight from Australia to China.
Our friend and fellow Elephant Polo player, Tom Claytor, was one of four pilots on the Mandalay/Kunming leg of the flight.
The MA-1 Flight Jacket features an orange lining, ribbed collar, 100% nylon water repellent outer shell, poly fiberfill lining and 4 front slash pockets. The classic military style flight jacket has an extra full cut.

Flying the hump was the name chosen by Allied pilots flying supplies over the Himalaya Mountains from India to China during World War II. The Air Transport Command of the U.S. Air Force and China National Aviation Corporation (CNAC) flew over 700,000 tons of supplies to Kunming, China from 1942 to the end of the war. Further background is included in our blog dated May 21, 2015, which relates the role elephants played in this program.
